Never going out of style, this comeback-kid of a guitar has been given the refreshing Fender American Professional II treatment, so it's just as innovative, inspiring, and just as solidly reliable as it ever was. This fully tweaked and up-to-date pro-grade model offers that familiar and flexible Tele tone - just better. It also comes complete with its very own deluxe case.
The American Professional II Telecaster: Compulsive Playability
Fender have thrown everything including the kitchen sink at this model to ensure maximum playing comfort. So, while this means you get a much-loved deep C-profile neck, it also means you get a 'Super-Natural' satin gloss coated back-side for an ultra sleek and fast feel, while the fretboard edges have been thoughtfully rounded. Even the top corner of the heel and neck plate has been completely cut-off and smoothed down, all in the name of improved reach when gripping the highest of the 22 narrow-tall frets. The bridge has also been tweaked, since it can now be set up as either a string-through-body or toploader as preferred, so you can attain the perfect, and most personalised sound and feel possible. The three compensated brass 'bullet' saddles have also been freshly contoured.
The V-Mod II: The Sound of the Next Generation
The American Professional II Telecaster has been loaded with a pair of brand-new V-Mod II pickups, both specially voiced for their position and for this particular Tele. These insanely accurate next-gen single-coils have all of that familiar and friendly twang, snap, and snarl with the added treat of a push/push tone pot that can be toggled to flip the pickups from series to parallel and back again, giving this newest of pro-standard guitars an even broader range, and a near-gymnastic level of flexibility.

Ik ben overstag gegaan en heb mezelf getrakteerd op een Fender AM II Telecaster. De eerste kwam binnen met een vervelende kras, maar voordat ik kon huilen in een hoekje had het klantenservice team het al opgelost. Binnen no-time kon in een spiksplinternieuwe Fender ophalen in Rotterdam. En, wat speelt deze gitaar heerlijk! Elke noot, elke slag, het voelt alsof ik in een rock-‘n-roll hemel ben beland. Zelfs als m’n vingers smeek om een pauze, krijg ik het niet voor elkaar om deze schoonheid neer te leggen. Kramp in de vingers? Check. Maar spijt? Geen seconde. Bax Music, ik ben verkocht! 🎸
Jarenlang al speel ik enkel op Gibson’s (Les Paul, SG, ES, Studio) en het was tijd om eens een Fender uit te proberen. Wat een fantastische gitaar deze Fender American Pro II Telecaster. Voor mij als Gibson freak echt een openbaring. Heb het gevoel dat je er héél veel stijlen mee aankan. Hele mooie klank en met de switch in middenpositie met push/push toneknob krijg je er nog een extra (power) klank bij. Hele mooie klank in alle posities. De gitaar komt af fabriek met 9-42 snaren wat ik iets te dun vind en die ik heb vervangen door 10-46 (uit gewoonte?). Ook de hals voelt zeer goed (deze versie met rosewood toets, zoals ik gewoon ben op Gibson’s, klinkt mooi warm)), de hoogste posities zijn gemakkelijk bereikbaar en de gitaar is verder heel mooi afgewerkt. Ook de koffer mag er zijn.

I might have found the one. It’s a gorgeous Telecaster with the quality you’d expect from an American made Fender.
The Dark Night colour-way is a bit different from the classic Butterscotch and Sunburst colours that we all know and love, but I love it, especially with the contrasting brass saddles in the bridge.
I bought a B-Stock guitar which did have a small dent in the body, but it’s not very visible and worth it for me for the reduced price.
The guitar is a joy to play due to neck, which feels great to me. I Love the simplicity of a Telecaster. The hard case provides ample protection and fits the guitar snug.
I upgraded from a Mexican made Player Telecaster which was also a fab guitar but I have no regrets selling it to fund the Pro II which I’ll likely keep for the foreseeable.
